A Visit to Our Partners in Yucatan, Mexico

Dennis & Candie Lambert are spending a few weeks with Pastor Severo Ek and our partner ministry in Ticul, Mexico.  Here's a portion of their most recent update:

We have been acquainting ourselves with the town and enjoying some sights with Severo and Sandra.  Attended the church service yesterday and then drove to Mani, a quaint small village, for lunch.  In the evening we drove to Progresso with Pedro (an elder at Pastor Severo's church) for a service in the evening. The church in Ticul is helping the church in Progresso as it gets started. Only about 15 people for the service, including Dennis and I. It was fun talking to some of the people, practicing our Spanish, and a few practicing their English. We didn't get back to Ticul until about midnight.

Today we arrived at Casa Mateo at 9:00am and Dennis began helping Severo with water problems.  In the picture they are working on the storage tank on the roof.  They think they got it fixed, but because the water was not working at all in the neighborhood today they will have to wait to see if they were successful.  I had a few patients today, one of which I will visit in her home tomorrow.  She is unable to walk but a few steps and uses a wheelchair.  Her brother lives with her also and is unable to leave the house.  She wants me to see him also.  Pray for wisdom for me to help them.

We are impressed and encouraged at the amount of work that has been done at Casa Mateo since we were here last year. The remainder of the inside has been painted, screens are on the windows, dividers in the bathrooms, fans, a small propane stove. A small caretaker's quarters has been started. Besides the water tank on the roof, Dennis has started prep work for painting the fence and wall around Casa Mateo.
